The Macy’s Shop Like a Star Event at Macy’s Southdale in Edina, Minnesota, this weekend offered insight into Spring Beauty Trends from manager Michelle Squires. The fashion show featured “real life” models portraying the latest shoes and accessories for Spring AND the final accessory – – cosmetics. Here is what is HOT right now.

Power Serums
A concentrated treatment used after cleansing before moisturizing. Power Serums address many different beauty concerns from redness, dark spots, fine lines, uneven skin tone and the brightness of your skin.

BB Cream/CC Creams
These abbreviations stand for “Beauty Benefit” and “Color and Correct”. This is a brand new category similar to a tinted moisturizer but with added benefits. They are very light weight – perfect for those on the go who like a natural look and feel. They have sunscreen protection as well.

Color
This season is about new ways of using color for all ages. Pink, aqua blues and greens are the colors of the moment, taking you back to the 1980s. Some of the spring color trends are:

• Eyes: A hint of aqua blue or pink shadow swept across the lid and eyes lined with green or blue on the lower lid. This can really make the eyes pop!
• Cheeks: Sun kissed coral or soft pinks.
• Lips: Many shades of coral and hot pink are also in style.

…. and don’t forget to finish the look with your favorite mascara. Mascaras have become very advanced over the years they can lengthen, thicken, curl, separate and definitely complete the look.
