Protect Your Skin this Winter with Aquaphor – Reader Giveaway

It’s that time of year.  The weather turns cold, we anticipate the snow and winter hits us full on.  One of my very least favorite things about the season is how hard it is on my skin!  The combination of that super harsh air outside along with indoor heat can really dry out your skin due to the lack of humidity in the air.  The worst part is when the skin gets really dry it can even break open and crack.

I find it harder and harder to deal with that dry skin every year.  I do my best to keep my skin moisturized, especially my hands, because I hate to develop splits on my fingers from the dry skin.  It looks terrible and it hurts!

This year, I’m giving Aquaphor Healing Ointment a try. Here’s a little about it:

Trusted by dermatologists, Aquaphor Healing Ointment provides the effective care that your very dry, chapped, or irritated skin needs. Specially formulated to create an ideal environment that protects to help heal your skin, it’s also free of fragrances, dyes and preservatives, making it gentle for sensitive skin.

What I like about the Aquaphor Healing Ointment is that it is nice and thick and feels like it is really putting up a barrier on my skin.  It is very long lasting and I don’t feel like I have to re-apply every 20 minutes like I often do with some hand lotions.  I also appreciate that it is fragrance-free.  The one thing that takes a bit to get used to is the oily feel.  On the one hand it is an unusual feeling, but on the other hand it makes me know that there is that barrier up on my hands!

The other thing I’m loving is the Aquaphor Lip Repair + Protect.  It both soothes lips that are already dry or chapped and also protects them from the elements.  PLUS it has broad spectrum SPF30.   Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean the sun isn’t strong!  I slather this on my lips before I go out to walk the dog in the morning and evening and I can tell that it is really protecting my lips!

We love to sled down our driveway and snow ski. We’ll be doing an ice fishing trip with my grandson’s class this winter!

I’m more of an indoor girl with a good book, a cup of tea and a cat on my lap.
My feet will be glad to have this.
    Thanks for the contest.

I really don’t like being cold outside, so I try to spend my time indoors doing projects that I don’t do when we’re outside in warmer weather. But I do love to hike and spend quite a bit of time outside in the cold with my little boys.

I’m not very “outdoorsy” but I will occasionally play with my children outside. I am usually the mother taking pictures from the doorway 🙂 I enjoy doing crosswords or suduko puzzles on my comfy couch 🙂

I really dislike being outside in the cold, but my son loves it no matter what the weather so we bundle up and play. I’d prefer to be in front of the fireplace reading a book. lol

Not really unless I’m snow skiing (which is one of my favorite activities!) I try to stay warm unless I’m walking the dogs!

The time I spend outside is mostly running to and from my car. I hate the cold. I’d rather be in the warm house watching a good movie with my family.
    Thanks!

I do spend time outdoors during winter, tho not particularly by choice. We have chickens which must be cared for daily, as well as outdoor dogs. I do like to have snowball fights or go sledding when there’s snow, but I live in Kentucky so snow is pretty rare. :0)

I do spend a lot of time outside; playing in the snow with my daughter and doing seasonal cleanup in my garden. I’d like to try this brand; my hands get very cracked this time of year because of the dry air inside and the amount of hand washing during flu season.

I would just as soon spend the entire winter indoors. Hubby is a farmer, so it’s not possible for him! His fingers are already cracking and it’s only November. Gonna be a loooong winter for his fingers!

I do spend time outside during winter, but since I live in the desert, our “winter” is still 60-70 degrees. 🙂 My hubby and I like to bike and garden all year, but our skin gets SUPER dry, especially when we spend time outdoors.

I hate to exercise (which for me is walking/jogging) indoors at a gym or more specifically on a treadmill – it’s unbearable for me. I much prefer to walk outside which is amazing in the spring, very hot in the summer, amazing again in the fall and CHILLY in the winter but I layer up, suck it up and just go..

The only time I spend outdoors in the winter is running from the car to the store or wherever. I don’t like cold weather at all. We have 6 month long miserable winters in the Midwest

I love to cross stitch in the winter time. My hands are so dry sometimes that the floss catches on it. I have never tried this lotion, I’ll have to pick it up next time I’m at the store and see if it’s better than Aveeno.
